I've been to many road and bowl games. Wyo and Oregon both had incidents of
people yelling stuff, but was in the parking lot. When they didn't get the desired response of shock or defensiveness , they kinda laughed it off as a joke. We engaged them in brief conversation, and both walked away saying "I can't believe you are Y fans." USU, AF, CSU, SDSU, Vegas for 96' Wac champ. game vs. WYO, and Vegas champ. game in 98' vs AF, Vegas Bowl vs. Oregon andOregon St, Boise St.,UW, UCLA, and had no problems. Thats off the top of my head. Only had the two incidents mentioned. Granted, none of those were UU at RES. I think the response, or lack thereof has alot to do w/ it. In general, I think the incidents are way overblown, and that people really need to have much thicker skin. About their team, religion, and everything else. I look it as an opportunity to show them BYU fans and Mormons are not what they think they know.

Of course drunks or teenagers, its pointless doing anything but ignoring them. I have a BIL that goes ape-crap trying to shout his testimony and BYU FB's glorious history, giving them exactly what they wanted. Only confirming the uglier side of who they think Cougars and Mormons are. We had great interactions at Bowl games w/ opposing fans that were initially a bit hostile. Again, "I can't believe you are BYU fans" Might sound a bit preachy, but again, I think it's often an opp to dispel the zoob stereotype, or confirm it.
