The truth on windmills and solar is they have utilization rates far lower than promised. The wind simply does not blow all the time and neither does the sun shine constantly.

Current alternative energy technologies can be practical in SOME applications. But they continue to produce a fraction of required power because they do not scale or perform at the level that traditional power sources work.

A real change in the balance of power generation will require more innovation.
