Part of coaching is getting kids to respond and listen to you.
There's a difference between belittling and correcting mistakes.

The best way I have heard coaches handle those situations, is to praise the ability to recover, or whatever, and de-emphasizing the mistake. That way, the coach acknowledges the good result, points out the mistake, and keeps the players head held high.

If they get turned off to what you're saying it won't matter how right you are.
