We don't know what the new rules (stipends etc.) exactly will entail. We don't know what will happen with the NLI (O'bannon) lawsuit and appeals. And when those things are decided, we don't exactly know how BYU will respond to them. There are too many unknowns, too many decisions yet to be made, to be worrying about what was said and interpreted today. Everything is fluid and changing. Just take a breath and don't look for negativity all the time...
