I have now re-watched the Texas, Houston, and Boise games in their entirety.
One thing that can't be ignored is the amount of points we left off of the board because of simple mistakes, particularly in the red zone. False starts, faulty snaps, kick returns for touchdowns, dropped passes, etc. were very prevalent and have in my opinion been a carry over from the Doman/Heaps/Riley era.

I'm also a huge fan of Oregon and have subsequently been watching a lot of their games from last season. Simply put, they do not make the same mistakes thus converting on absolutely every opportunity. There is no reason that the same shouldn't be expected from BYU.

I think other than improving the play of our O-line, eliminating costly mistakes in the red zone remains our biggest opportunity for improvement. Hopefully with another year of experience with Anae's system we'll see more consistency in the way we play. If we don't beat ourselves we should have a very special season. Unfortunately, it's been a long time since we've had a team that plays with the maturity needed to come out and win big games consistently.
