If he actually said something strange I would comment on it.

But when it is a comment that you actually have to work hard to misunderstand (or be incredibly stupid) I will give him a pass.

For the record - it is far better to defend a person than criticize them for no actual reason. I'll bet I could find a scripture to back me up on that. What do you think?
