The value of BYUTV sports is pretty low compared to the chance to get BYU into a real conference. The ESPN contract is nice but not enough to sustain the program if G5 programs get further deprecated as the P5 seem to want. BYU will end up in the AAC or MWC if the Big 12 does not come calling in the next few years, and that would be the end of BYU as a national football program.
