I believe there are plenty of individuals on the committee that would care
far more about their integrity in the public spotlight than what their former school/employer or CFP head wants them to do...

As far as I can tell these people are not being paid to be on the committee and will only be on for a max of 3 years (some only for this first year so that they get new blood each year) and there will be a recusal requirement when dealing with teams they are involved with...

Is there a recusal policy in place for committee members?
Yes. Committee members will be recused from participating in votes involving a school’s team if they or an immediate family member receives compensation from the school or has a professional relationship with that school. The committee will have the option to add other recusals if special circumstances arise.

We also have to remember that inclusion of BYU in the CFP or NY6 bowl does not take an excessive amount of money away from other conferences. In fact it is only $6M if it is in a semi-final game and $4M to be in a NY6 bowl. When you consider that P5 schools are starting with a base of about $50M from TV/Tickets/Merchandise sales per year before any participants for any of the games are selected that $4-6M is peanuts.

CFP semi-final teams 4 x $6M = $24M
NY6 teams 8 x $4M = $32M

Total participation payout = $56M for the games.

So that $56 will be minus a minimum of $4M for a Go5 conference champ ($52M) and if BYU or another Go5/IND got in it would only subtract another $4M from that so they'd be at $48M to divide among the P5's that are participating (based on # of participants). As well as the $50M+ each conferences is already receiving before participants are even considered....

I can't believe that it would be worth committee members integrity to manipulate rankings just so that the P5 can split an additional $4M 64 ways when they are already getting $250M (5 x 50) plus $48M for a total of $298M...
