my oldest son decided to stop playing in HS football
after injuries, thankfully not head injuries. In the past I would have pushed him to still play. It helps because he is involved in things scholastically well beyond what I ever did. My younger boys still play football, and although they don't have the same talent as their older brother did, they have fun with it and still talk about playing college football, even if they have yet to crack the starting lineup in HS. It's fun watching kids try to reach goals, and as long as football is a goal of theirs, I will support it. But the day they just don't want to play because of injuries, I have no problem with them walking away from it.
