my son played up to last year 8th grade. he was the best
On his team though it was the b team. I gotta admit, it fed my pride. He was in nearly every play as the rb. But after the season I kept hearing about concussions and other long term injuries. One nurse said she has seen too many life changing injuries in fb. A brainb surgeon said he would never let his son play. Even home teaching. I taught a family that had a son who dreamed of the NFL. He quit bc a doctor would not clear him after too many concussions. On top of that he was still having side affects. All that and I told my son no more tackle. He has other things he is good atso it was ok. But I gotta admit it hurt watching teams practice and my boy wasn't out there knowing he was one of the best. Part of me still wants to let him play....

But anyone who believes this is all media is wrong. Too much evidence from everywhere right in front of my face.... Not to mention watching my kid get drilled by a few kids and wonder if he would be able to get up again.

I'm raising my boys for something bigger than football.

All said....I love watching football.

And we have a dang good Turkey bowl team!
