After re-watching the Houston and Texas games, I've come to the conclusion
that we are feeling better about our offense than we probably should. I can't overstate how difficult Taysom is to defend and how he opens up the defense to exploitation by other players while providing ridiculous numbers for the passing, rushing, first-downs and 3rd down efficiency statistical categories.

He was sacked a modest amount but hurried (especially in the Houston game) almost the entire games. If we had any other QB outside of Manziel or Mariota, we'd have been in deep trouble. He's a one man gang. Easily the best player on either side of the field in all three contests so far and fully capable of making our fairly pedestrian OL look good.

Still, the inescapable fact remains that we are one tweak/tear away from offensive mediocrity. The same could be said for most teams when it comes to the QB position, but I think it's doubly so for BYU given the caliber of athlete we have there.

I think it's fair to say that we are witnessing the high-water mark for the position at BYU--and that's saying something. Sit back and enjoy it while it lasts, which, hopefully will be about another 20 games or so.
