Coaches of opposing teams would need to protect against the run. However take Taysom out of the picture and the coaches don't need to give up a player or even two players to spy on the QB. This allows personnel to focus on RB's, swing routes as well as position the secondary to more zone vs man coverage.
Also Taysom was not under pressure every down. He actually had more than enough time in the pocket during quite a few downs of both games.
