It's simpler than that. We feature big receivers.
They are by their very constitution typically slower than smaller receivers and thus have a harder time "going deep" within the pass pro time frame that our OL is capable of delivering (which isn't very long, in case you hadn't noticed).

Kurtz wouldn't seem to be the clear answer then to this problem, but someone like Blackmon could be. Trouble is, he's already played two games and has been largely ineffective as a pass-catching threat on long or short routes. Dye and Juergens are other deep-threat possibilities but have produced far less than the big boys, accounting for only 5 of our 67 completions.
