Small towns in barren eastern Utah are more fun than you'd think.
I grew up in Helper and I'm sure I had as much fun as anyone anywhere else.
We played all the sports in season. Rode four-wheelers year round with friends. We went shooting from age 12 on by ourselves. Spent countless hours playing in the hills.
By the time I could drive we were snow boarding back country 3 days a week or waterskiing in the summer.
We did all the same stuff like watch TV and hangout with friends.
It is funny how people think that there is nothing to do because there aren't a bunch of stores or a mall.
All that being said, I would never move back;)
