Then once Blackmon started running, he saw Blanding had the angle and so he was running and looking over his shoulder for an opening to maybe make a move and use Blandings momentum against him. I don't think Blackmon ran full out (not a knock, just meaning he was looking for a way to get past the defender). Had they both been going stride for stride without Blackmon having to hold up, Blanding doesn't catch Blackmon because Blackmon wouldn't be looking over his shoulder. That slowed him even further.
