Granted each defense has shown us slightly different looks. But I think Anae needs to go back and rewatch the UConn and Texas game tapes....
Virginia chose some good angles to cut off Taysoms read/option, but one thing that would have solved that would have been the fake to the middle, fake to run, and then the roll outs that he made against UConn and Texas to flip it to the RB on the sideline, to Mathews on the back shoulder, or to Brown on a little cross with him... the LB is already committing, the CB has to play Matthews or the RB on the sideline. That leaves Algie alone to either take the 7 yard catch and run thru a safety, or block and Taysom to beat the LB and go.
Replay the Virginia tape, you saw Taysom spend more time between the tackles than before, if that's the evolution, then it didn't produce what the first two games did. But he needs those plays that spread the field sideline to sideline and open lanes for either the RBs or himself.
