I'm not congratulating myself in any way.
I merely offered an answer to why they would run the play. I'm sorry it bothered you. But yes, Anae is a reasonably smart guy. Not perfect...they don't make those...but he does go in to a game with a plan and he does assess what it means to expose Taysom to hits. Life is always risk v. reward. If you are thinking about that now, Anae and Bronco and Beck are thinking about that probably every waking moment.

But you play to win the game. When you have a weapon like Taysom...who truly is a full back playing QB...you use him. If he were a full back, and you had a running offense, you'd ride him all game. They are aware of it. They do factor it in. And then they make decisions to win games. So far the offense has been pretty efficient...and a huge part of that is because Taysom is Taysom. If he were just a thrower, he probably wouldn't be the QB because he's not a great thrower. But he's not. He's a playmaker. He's a passer and a running back...and he's pretty good at both...and together he's excellent. Excellent QB's win championships...or in our case at least do great things.

Ships are safest in harbor...but alas, that's not why they are made. Taysom would be safest in the pocket throwing on a two count like Manning. But alas, that is not who Taysom is. The coaching staff knows his value. I'm sure they worry every time the ball is snapped. But Taysom is going to be turned loose on the sea because that is what makes him great. Even on the first play of the game.
