There's a problem but not really what you think.
1- people are busier today than they were in the past on Saturdays -- kids sports mostly.
2- BYU's fanbase has a lot of old people.
3- tv is vastly better than than it used to be, so going to the game isn't as important.
4- secularization of the country is killing religions off, and in our case that means fewer fans.
