Listen, I'm not here to say that beating BYU is/was Utah's season. But the past two years, it was a bright spot on otherwise lack-luster seasons. The Stanford win earned Utah more exposure/interest nationally, without a doubt. But beating BYU is still what gets people talking locally, throughout the year. I mean, we hear about "4-in-a-row" pretty frequently.
My point is just that the upside of beating BYU is real. Utah won't have that this year. A losing season with a win over BYU is better than a losing season without a win of BYU. IMO, only Ute fans trying to denigrate BYU's place in CFB argue otherwise.
