A couple of thoughts . . .
I've had a couple of thoughts regarding things I'd like to see with BYU football and want to get others' takes on them.

1. Why not move Kaufusi back to the D-line? If linebacker is a strength for us and Alisa is playing well, why not put Kaufusi back at DE and help our pathetic pass rush while keeping your best talent on the field? I just don't see Kaufusi being too "light" to play DE. He hasn't gotten THAT small.

2. If want we want is exposure then, clearly, Taysom is the ticket. I don't see anyway that in this climate he wins the Heisman. I just want him invited and relevant. I think one way to keep Taysom in the spotlight is to let him kick some PAT's. I have personally seen him boot field goals from 40 plus. Having Taysom kick does a couple of things. First it takes advantage of his freak athleticism. That's already been the story and a qb like Taysom, with his all-American personae, would get a ton of run if he started kicking some too. I just think ESPN would eat it up.

The second advantage would be the option to go for 2 on PAT's of fake field goals whenever we choose. I realize that this is not necessarily coming from a football first perspective but rather a marketing point of view. Still, in the games where there's no risk (MTSU, Savannah, UNLV) and likely less interest it may give Taysom added buzz.

Please no one say one of two things: 1. "The Defensive coaches know what they're doing." Of course they do. Second guessing is part of the fan/entertainment value. 2. "Taysom will get enough buzz if BYU keeps winning." This is also obvious, but more importantly, Taysom kicking (some, or even short punting again) and winning are not mutually exclusive.
