And? The whole point is the 3-4 gives the defense flexibility.
With a big OLB Kaufusi, you can play him on the line or drop him into coverage. Having three down linemen who are capable of defending the run unaided gives you flexibility in how you defend the pass.
If you want to get more pressure on the QB, you just bring an extra guy or two. It's no different that running a 4-3 except that you don't always have to commit the fourth man to the line.
