when they started to expand the stadium. And there was a lawsuit back then that BYU had to settle before they could do the expansion. BYU has had trouble with that neighborhood for a really long time. These are also the folks who sued the MTC/BYU/the Church over construction plans to expand the MTC a couple of years ago. I used to live really close to there, but not on that exact street. These are 99% LDS folks who are otherwise pretty normal by all accounts, but they seem to lose their minds when it has anything to do with the stadium or any other BYU/church project in their neighborhood. It's very strange. But when I lived there in the 90s most of the homeowners had been there before 1980. I'm not sure that's the case anymore.
