In my mind, it's the following...
NY6 Bowl or Playoff
Top 25 ranking
Conference championship (when that was possible)
...did I miss anything?
I would say that the BM apologists would include...
Make a bowl game/finish above .500
Beat a marquee name program (regardless of the quality of team they field)
...does that seem like the dividing line?
