Martzen and others have come in and showed Bronco that their pool isn't as limited as some people want to make it seem. You just have to put in the effort to get out and find them. Bronco never did that before, and obviously it is speculated that he was kind of afraid to because of the Crowton stuff. That and making absolutely horrible decisions in who he chooses as assistants, who in turn suck at recruiting and developing.
