I would go so far as to say that in real life (off a sports board), I am as competitive as anyone here. I hate losing beyond what most people (even here) would consider to be rational. OTOH, when it comes to collegiate sports, I think this nation could use more guidance for youth, not less. I don't subscribe to the current sports model across all conferences and schools. I'm a bit of a fuddy-duddy in that I think we should also teach ethics on the sports field, not just ways to get away with things.
So yes, I think that off-the-field issues are more important than straight W/L's...but certainly not the only thing...and while it could definitely be better (especially against in-state teams), I think it's a mistake to characterize Bronco's W/L record as soft or weak.
