Considering the circumstances, yes.
They're actually the 2nd-highest ranked team in the MWC in FEI. They beat a team Utah couldn't. They lost by one score on the road to the 4th-best FEI overall team (Arizona). They lost by one score each to the top-ranked FEI overall MWC team (Colorado State - 23rd in the country) and 3rd-highest ranked FEI overall team (Boise State - 47th).
We were playing a 4th-string, walk-on, JC transfer QB and a 4th-string, walk-on, JC transfer RB and replaced our two senior defensive leaders with a first-year and second-year player. Do you think we could have beat West Virginia (32nd FEI overall and 5th best in Big 12) with that combination? What about Missouri (34th FEI overall and 6th best in SEC)?
