maybe you can offer me some sort of proof that fans are leaving in droves?

I'm not talking anecdotal evidence. if the AD has empirical evidence showing that fans are leaving in droves, you may have a point.

Firing a winning coach, especially given the limitations that come with the BYU job, would set the program back. let BYU and Bronco separate after a contract year.

to be clrear, i'm not please with Bronco either. but if you think that firing him is the best option, think about hiring your next coach. will a coach with options choose us, knowing he'll be fired after a couple 8-5 seasons?
