Great points: I'd add one more.
13. This team needs a natural leader to step up and keep guys pumped and playing at a high level. Taysom was that guy. His influence on the defense was certainly pleasant. When Stew drops the ball (literally) his body language is that of frustration and disappointment. I love the way he has played coming in as a backup, but that is a place he needs to develop. You NEVER saw that with Taysom. He'd be over pumping up the D-line, or talking to the corners about routes, even after a fruitless offensive possession. He'd thank guys for bailing him out after a stalled possession. He made people feel important and responsible on both sides of the ball.

I don't think the quarterback is the only position that can fill that role (KVN did this, Austin Collie did this, Dennis Pitta did this, even Cody Hoffman did this at times), but the QB might be the most natural candidate.

Until BYU finds a leader, morale and focus will be a roller coaster. And when it hits the lows like the 3Q against Nevada, it is gonna get ugly at times.
