I just can't help but think that if 5 conferences continue to survive (meaning B12 doesn't get swallowed up by others) that a likely scenario is pressure coming in for all of them to be at 14. Three of them already are... So if that pressure did come (and I'm totally speculating) it could mean 6 more slots (2 PAC / 4 B12).

It is a better tighter fit in my opinion if it were at 4 conferences with 16 teams though...which could make CCG be the 1st round of the playoffs in their exclusive separate division...but when have they ever done things the easy/smart way...

I wonder...if the B12 expanded by 4 teams all at once would that be enough to force some TV re-negotiations? It might take something that significant for new negotiations to bring more to the table because according to expert opinion under current contracts BYU would be revenue neutral as an addition but all other options would be revenue deficient causing less share to all teams. And an 11th team doesn't do much for them so no action would be taken...
