What does "unprepared" even mean, and how would a fan know?
I'm quite certain that the players over the years know what they are supposed to do, know what the offensive tendencies are (what the offence likes to do on first down, 3rd and short, 2nd and medium, out of this or that formation, etc), and know what their reads are (if the OG does X, I do Y, etc.). That is what I call being prepared.

Lack of execution doesn't mean they weren't prepared. Being physically beat by the opponent because they were stronger or faster or whatever doesn't mean they weren't prepared. Sometimes a player knows exactly what to do, knows exactly what is coming because he's put his time in studying tape, and still doesn't/can't execute because his opponent just beat him. That isn't a lack of being prepared.
