He was packing his bags and considering options when Crowton got fired. He did not pursue the HC job and by all accounts he was a distant second to Kyle Whittingham in BYU's eyes.

So we have had someone from the beginning that did not have his sights set on an HC job and was thrown into it . The results have been good overall, but not where they need to be if we believe what the AD says about the goals and aspirations for the program.
