Who in their right mind would even want the job?

BYU has a myriad of unique challenges:

--Must be an active, temple-recommend-holding, member of the LDS Church.
--Very specific and unique expectations from the BOT and LDS Church GAs.
--The Honor Code.
--A much-reduced recruiting pool compared to most other schools.
--The double-edged sword of independences. A great TV package with ESPN (for now), but no conference rivalries or conference championship to play for.
--Juggling the comings and goings of missionaries.

And the BYU fanbase is just as rabid with the same expectations as fans from schools like Michigan, Alabama, Texas, and most other schools. It truly is asking someone to fight opponents with one arm tied behind your back, and with an arsenal of weapons that is much smaller than what they've got.
