Bronco took the blame for Anae's failure to call conservative plays
when BYU got backed up to its own 10 with 1:30 left in the first half. He said that he was too busy talking with the inept defense to pay attention to the fact that Anae needed to be babysat on the sidelines, so Anae had Stewart throw an INT. Oh, Bronco took the blame for not paying attention - as the HC. But, he also made it clear that his coaches can't function without him on either side of the ball.

It was similar to Bronco taking a subtle swipe at BYU fans leaving the UNR game early when his team played like poo. Of course, he made it seem like a compliment to those with the gumption to stay and support him . . . but it was a definite swipe at those who left.

Bronco's statement in the UNR post game that his system is perfect is just a load of barf. If his system is so perfect, why does our team struggle to look like a D1 team? Even with a healthy Hill, it was obvious BYU was not going undefeated with our weak D after the VA game. The only difference was the team (coaches) had Hill to bail them out. Once Hill was gone, the coaches went into the proverbial fetal position and the players followed.

At the BSU game, the entire team was DEAD on the sideline from the very beginning. The defense was semi fired up after holding BSU to a FG on the first drive, but when the offense went three and out (with Anae's typical useless plays, beginning with the dive - as if Stewart really poses a threat to run), the defense was deflated. There was just a feeling of impending doom after that. Williams showed the most leadership. Guys like Warner stepped up. Other guys just laid down like they were trying to make an attacking bear go away. It was really pathetic. I have seen some of the WORST BYU football in my life this season. All the while, we have to listen to Bronco talk about (in his always soft, humble voice) "execution," "higher level," "assignment sound," etc.

Bronco says things like: "Penalties don't determine the outcome of games" to explain away the incredibly undisciplined manner in which his team plays. The most casual fan knows that is a truckload of crapola. Did Johnson's offsides on the FG attempt in the USU game that led to seven points decide the outcome? How about the offsides on the onsides kick that BYU recovered? Did that influence the outcome of the game vs. USU? Give me a break. It's not even slightly debatable.

Bronco loses all credibility when he talks about execution, spirit and honor while his team leads the world in personal fouls and other stupid penalties. There's more in my rant, but I've said enough. Bronco's act has grown very, very old. If it's wearing on the fans, I can only imagine what it's doing to the team. Yeah, there's a lot I don't know about what goes on within the locker room. But, from what I see, this mess is only going to get worse.
