"If we're going to do it at all, we're going to do it really well." This is exactly my line of thinking, and generally what I hold myself to in most areas, so it's easy to get frustrated that BYU doesn't seem to have that same goal. It feels like they're content with just having good people in the program and not going all out on winning.
I think I'd be perfectly fine with Bronco as our coach going forward if there wasn't so much cognitive dissonance about the goals of the program. We talk of national championships and top 25 rankings but won't do what it takes to get there. If the church leaders came out and said that national relevance is not high on the priority list for BYU athletics' mission, I'd be disappointed, but I would come to terms with it. Right now, we're talking the talk and not walking the walk and that's why many of us are frustrated beyond belief.
