It requires a lot of assumption but there are other ways she could have known
- He could have told her when he transmitted the data.
- She could have looked up the flight/mission manifest and assumed she was somewhere performing Plan B.
- Maybe he said something to other people/doctors during the two weeks he was on the station waiting for his daughter.
I try not to think too hard about it but I assume she had some way of knowing.
