open a box and use the mix and then close up the bag and the box and no one will be at the cabin for a year and we show up and use the box that had been open for a year+ . If it is totally infested with bugs we wouldn't use it but if it looked ok we used it and tasted no difference. We have done all of this many times and my wife is very picky on what she will and wont let our kids eat. i really think you guys will be just fine.
