We got ours locally and I think just lucked out on the first one with no shedding. The kids wanted a dog, and the owner was giving them away for free, because they were not purebred poodles. (house 1 bred purebred standard poodles, neighbor house 2 bred purebred springer spaniels). There was an unauthorized exchange of love and puppies resulted. Technically Astro was a springapoo or a poospring or springerdoodle.
If you are looking for less or no shed, all I know is that you have a far greater chance of getting one if you bypass the F1 (50% golden or lab, 50% poodle) doodle and get an F1B (25% golden or lab, 75% poodle) or even better would be an F1B.B (12.5% golden or lab, 87.5% poodle). But really, you can't go wrong with any type of doodle, F1, F1B, or F1B.B. They are great dogs!
