I just don't agree with it. I agree with the posts above that explain how using it as a primary emphasis or excuse is unacceptable, but that is where we are at currently.
I could say the same to you I suppose. You don't understand what I'm saying. There is nothing wrong with mentoring the kids. But that just isn't what he is hired for. In every facet of life and in every job, you should be a good example and mentor to you underlings. This is not unique to coaching. It shouldn't be any bosses primary focus or excuse for not reaching the ultimate goals of your real job.
