- called in sick twice (2 days missed)
- funeral leave for two grandparents (6 or 7 days missed)
- tore my calf muscle and couldn't walk (2 days missed)
- oldest son's birth (1 day missed)

I'm hourly and we don't get sick time. I get 5 weeks of vacation, and 5 floating holidays. If you are out long-term sick/disability, you get nothing for the first three days, then you get to deal with the insurance company and try to get some money out of them (less than half of what you would have earned had you worked).

I'm sure I would miss more time if we had sick time, but it costs too much money to miss work.
