Size definitely does matter. You may not need an 80"
but go big.
Smart TVs are not necessary if you have a roku, chromecast, ps3/4, xbox, etc. If you have none of those, you may want to consider it but I would probably just get a dumb tv and buy a roku.
Is your receiver HD? If not you will want to upgrade to an HD receiver or you will not like the picture. As long as it supports HD, it will work with your new TV. Just check to see if the receiver has hdmi. Worst case scenario, you could use component cables. The picture will be the same with component or hdmi since the satellite providers only broadcast in 1080i.
