My apologies if I sounded like I was attacking you. I certainly can see where you are coming from, and I'm admittedly a little opinionated on this, so forgive my rant.
That being said,
Nets spent more than anyone, and they stink.
Knicks have rarely been good.
Lakers are having another terrible season.
The Heat did it, but I would argue it wasn't as simple as buying a championship. Because they failed the first year, and the second and third they had injuries to both Wade and Bosh at critical points in the playoffs.
San Antonio is a small market team, but they established a culture of success.
I would argue its more about creating a culture and legacy of success.
And besides, there is already profit sharing and salary caps to help even the playing field. It will never be perfectly even. And might I add, that ALL TEAMS try to get better in free agency, even the small market ones.
The Jazz have nobody but themselves to blame for their current failures. They seem to think that continuously looking 3-4 years down the road is a good strategy. I could go on about the Jazz, but I won't.
I was a big Jazz fan, but I find it hard to care now.
