Couple of Thoughts in Reply
1. Any player who is going to get picked in the first round will leave for the NBA and the guaranteed money that comes with it. Any player projected as a second round pick should (and probably will) give serious consideration to coming back. Note: I do not think KC will go after this season, but I also don't think it is ridiculous when talking about returning players to leave some wiggle room for the best underclassmen on roster. I will include him in my count of returning players.

2. At least when he initially signed Seljaas was planning to play at BYU in '15-'16 before "deciding whether or not to go an LDS Church mission." - Jay Drew of the SLT

3. Players who are very likely mission-bound include Andrus and Nixon (had a mission call to Boston before deciding to delay). Player(s) who are less likely, but still may, be mission-bound include Toolson (who delayed/opted out because of an anxiety disorder, but people's circumstances change and it at least seems like he wanted to serve and he is currently paying his own way...) and Seljaas (see post above).

4. Kaufusi, like Toolson, Nixon and Davis, is counted as a walk-on for BYU since the team already has its limit of scholarships (13) locked up in Andrus, Aytes, Fischer, Chatman, Neilson, Halford, Worthington, KC, Haws, Bartley, Winder, Austin and Sharp. Based on what I have seen, he is a fringe candidate for a scholarship, but for not I would not expect himt to get one over Toolson or Davis in '15-'16.

5. Returning scholarship athletes from this year's team include: KC, Bartley, Worthington, Nielson, Chatman, Fischer and Aytes (7).

6. Returning scholarship athletes from missions include: Calvert, Emery, Hartsock and Shaw (4)

7. That leaves 2 scholarships for 4 players: Toolson (if he returns), Davis, Seljaas and Kaufusi. You can be the judge, but time will tell

8. In '15-'16 BYU will add Dastrup and Haws and return Mika. They will lose KC and Fischer and will once again face a bit of crunch.

9. Looks to me like over the next two years BYU needs one additional player to either 1) transfer (Calvert, Bartley, Chatman) or 2) go on a mission (Toolson or Seljaas).

Anyway, I will leave it to the people who get payed to sort these things out, but it is better to be in this position, I think, than in the situation where you don't have enough players to fill your scholarships.
