My friend was one of the "door knockers" in Iraq
He said special force guys could do weird stuff like that, though he never could. So yeah... sounds like it could've happened.
He did say that the final call, when people were circling the building and coming in to attack and he STILL called his life was probably taking a bit of artistic license.
