I have had an all sports or ROC pass for the past while and have noticed that the atmosphere in the student section is a lot more quiet since moving behind the baskets. It has nothing to do with win/loss record. It has to do with student section atmosphere. There used to be a lot more students closer to the court making the venue louder . It also made more incentive for the students to get to the game early or on time! More opportunity to get a good seat. Now... you have the ROC people who are in charge who always get the front seats and the crazies that show up hours or even days before the game. This makes it hard for people who can only dedicate a half hour or less to standing in lines. Those fans who are loud and die hard fans who don't have all the time in the world to sit in a tent outside the Marriott center are forced to sit up in the boonies. I'm sure this affects some people. Our student section was gigantic but not very organized. Now its smaller and better organized... for the most part. The environment is very different though! If you haven't been in both student sections you may not understand what I am saying. Maybe student fans just aren't as loud and raucous as they used to be.... or we should just start winning games... I'm sure that would help!

Take my opinion with a grain of salt... It makes no difference to what happens in the program. It's just what I have felt at all the home games for the past couple years since the change. It makes no difference with how hard I cheer and how much I love my Cougs!
