lump charcoal lit in a pan maybe? Something for smoke at least.

I use the Texas crutch when the internal temp gets to 150. 1 unwrap at about 190

Buy a small smoker box, fill it with wood chips, soak with water.

I've done barbecue on a grill but never brisket. Brisket can be finicky.
