it's not a subsidy to refrain from taking someone else's money
and even if it were, the NFL has a unique structure that in the end (thanks to the advent of the LLC) is not unique from a tax impact perspective and saves its owners no taxes over What any other taxpayer could get.

The stadium issue is the only subsidy argument I find at all compelling, and my answer is that if local voters want a team badly enough to bond for a stadium to keep it, I don't care.
