I dont have a problem with that because you go to school
to train for your profession. Athletes will go pro, become coaches, trainers, commentators, etc all related to sports. So I think consideration should be given to their "athletic GPA" as well. Of course I still think that we can only consider that or they would not end up making it through the rest of their classes.

I also don't feel sympathy for a player not being able to remain eligible. I have a nephew who played college basketball and was the star of the team. He just couldn't get motivated to do his school work and had to leave school. And I have no sympathy for him at all. I have sympathy for me and his dad because we didn't get to see him play or brag about him.

Finally - a 3.2 GPA in HS is pathetically easy. Almost all you have to do is show up to class and do your homework. But it took me till 12th grade to learn that
