Many states name a "Mr. Basketball" each year for the best player in that particular state. Here is a list of Utah Mr. Basketball over the years:

While these are all great players, notice in the far right hand column how many were drafted/played in the NBA. These are the very best players in the state year by year.

Even at BYU, many of our most elite players came from states other than UT. Jimmer - NY. Ainge - OR. Michael Smith - CA.
