LOL ...Emery is VERY legit and could play anywhere in the country...
not just the "WCC" ...

http://www.good4utah.com/home/sports/story/Nick-Emery-about-to-leave-on-LDS-mission/d/story/6Xz5Mju7Hkar1ZmOpx8NYA

Quote: Emery had offers to go to basically any school in the country, including North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA and Stanford.

He was ranked the 9th best pg in the country for the 2013 class:

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/databaseresults?firstname=&lastname=&collegeid=&class=2013&position=PG&state=

The reason LP beat the best teams in the country was because they had three of the best players to EVER PLAY in the state of Utah all on the same team. Plus, these guys had played together since infancy, and therefore had incredible chemistry. Emery and Haws both had older brothers who thrived on the division 1 level and pushed little brother to excel. It was the perfect storm.

Incidentally:
Mika was ranked the #3 HS center in the country for the 2013 class:

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/databaseresults?firstname=&lastname=&collegeid=&class=2013&position=C&state=

T.J. Haws the #11 SG in the country for the 2014 class:

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/databaseresults?firstname=&lastname=&collegeid=&class=2014&position=SG&state=

...and Frank Jackson, as it stands now, is ranked the #6 SG for the 2016 class:

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/databaseresults?firstname=&lastname=&collegeid=&class=2016&position=SG&state=

So, these are guys that are relevant on a national level, which is rare for players from Utah. They just so happened to all play for Lone Peak.
