I think a lot of fans have come to the conclusion that independence is not good for the football program long-term. The administration has basically admitted that as well. The WCC has not elevated BYU's basketball program either. Over the past few years I have seen BYU play down to the competition in the league much more than play up to the better team (Gonzaga). Overall I get the same feeling whether it is the football or basketball team. Good regular seasons with mixed results at best against better opponents. For as much as we bang on Bronco and the football program for not beating good teams consistently, the basketball team is right there with them. No good win this season....not one. I feel like both programs have just been treading water.
